Inka is free and open source. What you pay for, if anything, is someone to run it, the governance record, security cover and help building your site. Nothing is priced per editor.

Inka: free

Open source under the MIT licence, including the editor, the rules, the adapters and the adapter contract suite. Install it on your own infrastructure and run it for as long as you like, with no licence fee and nobody else deciding when you upgrade. Source on GitHub

Single sign-on, roles and approvals are not paid extras. They come from your CMS, and Inka uses them as they are.

Managed hosting

We run Inka for you on a dedicated instance of its own, kept up to date. Quoted.

Inka Assure

The evidence for each published version, the register of signed-off exceptions, reports and dashboards, and the inventory of where each block and template is used. Licensed to run in your own environment, or as our hosted service. Not priced per editor. In development, planned for late 2026. About Inka Assure

Security and maintenance subscription

Security fixes on the version you run: critical and high within 14 days, actively exploited within 72 hours. Advance notice of security releases, dependencies kept current, and monthly reporting. Quoted.

Services

PretaGov builds and maintains Inka, and can help you put it to work. Each is quoted for the job.

  • Implementation: setting up Inka over your CMS and frontends.
  • Design-system blocks: turning your design system's components into blocks, with the rules for using them.
  • Adapters: connecting Inka to a CMS or other content store that does not have one yet.
  • Migration: converting existing pages into your design system's blocks, checked against the same rules editors work under.
  • Training: for editors, reviewers and developers.

With no licence to pay, the main cost is implementation. It scales with the size of your design system and the number of rules you need, not with the number of editors.
